New Mghty Mighty Bosstones Album - Pin Points and Gin Joints - Thu Dec 10, 2009 6:49 pm
i reckon the songs are a good return to form, they're really catchy in that epic bosstones way and theres a lot of ska in it which is a relief, i dunno why but i really didn't get on well with "medium rare", maybe i didn't listen to it enough or give it much of a chance, but i'm sure pin points will be great! just amazed it went under the radar a bit...

SUICIDE BID AND THE FILAMENTS 15/08/09 - Thu Jul 30, 2009 5:31 pm

SUICIDE BID AND THE FILAMENTS 15/08/09 - Thu Jul 30, 2009 5:29 pm
Hacked off that i won't make this one, but none the less i'm damned excited that its going ahead!
Suicide Bid look set to play the Garage in Highbury (near islington) on 15/08/09.
to top it off, the filaments are billed as well!
this is all accoriding to the suicide bid myspace and the beloved ents24.com website.
I imagine support will be confirmed closer to the date, but i'm rooting for the Babylon Whackers to come out of hiding to really round things up!
the last Bid gig was excellent, babyboom, random hand and a string of acoustic punk acts all showed their support.
brilliant stuff!

Ultimate Ska Mix CD - Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:50 am
long believed "Society Refugee" by german band No Authority is one of the most perfect ska/punk songs around and the little gem can be downloaded from their site here
http://www.skapunk.de/en/download/index.php?section=download
also, maybe get save ferris' cover of come on eileen on the Mix CD simply cos its good fun and ska/punk covers are a staple of the genre ![]()
What are you listening to? - Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:45 am

Kudos buddy, ye wiles were incredible glad that i got to see them pretty much by fluke one night so yay, but that was ages ago.
anyway, i picked up Babylon Circus' latest album La Belle Etoile and its brilliant, less horns than usual but excellent stuff none the less. usually thats the kinda thing that would make me angry but it hasn't at all
