I guess i was fence sitting a bit. I'm more disagreeing with the fact that Itch reels off a list of things he's done and how hard it is to say that because he puts effort into it and cares about it, that he's above using that image of himself as a marketing goldmine for impressionable kids who read kerrang magazine. The guys are obviously pretty savvy about the music industry, and i think they know that they that image of themselves is what makes them stand out from the rest of the bland, agendaless pack of musicians that feature in these types of magazines.

I guess i'm not really knocking them for it, but i think it's a bit rich to come back with a list of accomplishments. It's the classic 'i've got a gay mate i cant be homophobic' argument.

I don't understand what you're disagreeing with?

Swings and roundabouts innit. Sure there's truth to both sides. Just because you care passionately about a cause, doesn't mean you'd be above using that to create an image for yourself for marketing purposes.

£30 is an absolute baaargain for the lineup, but i guess if you're purely going for the vans stage it may be a bit steep. I'm a lot more excited about NFG, SYG, 4YS, and other bands that can be abbreviated to initials.

Open Warfare - Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:03 am

March 25th, 2010, we’ll be releasing a brand new EP by A WarAgainstSound all the way from the UK! I had been into this band before, but was turned on to them once again because of a free compilation i downloaded from the Ska Mutiny Records website. AWAS can essentially be summarized as a technical skacore band, with jazz, punk, hardcore, and ska influences. Personally, I’d say their music is for fans of: Early Thrice, Safety, and at times, maybe Infamous Jake & The Pinstripe Mafia? But of course that’s just me. Decide for yourself, friends!
