I'm listening to Blame It On Edd, gutted i never got to see them. Remember being sent their album when i was collecting tracks for a compilation, absolutely awesome.

Still refuse to believe that posh boy Busby was in them though.

I like a bit of strike anywhere, havn't listened to them in a while. Might stick them on now actually.

And this thread has given me an idea I think is pretty cool (regarding compilation CDs), keep an eye out for a new thread!

EDIT: here it is - link - Ska Mutiny Compilation CD!

I prefer the newest one, but they're worlds apart really. Older is obviously more punk influenced, newer one is more sort of dubby/reggae influenced.

the first mouthwash album 1000 dreams is a good album as is the new one, and is definitly worth getting for the bonus disc. as it has some good songs that arent on the album

1000 dreams is def a more punk oriented album whereas true stories is more ska/dub ish feel, both are awesome albums, and the 3 times ive seen them they have been really good, even if no one knows em. the biggest difference is that they changed singers since 1000 dreams, which is why the style is different.

btw, im listening to the bonus tracks and am a huge fan of both the old and new

hmmm, change of singers? not sure how i feel about that then, the old guy wasn't a good singer by any standards but he was a part of the grimy sound that i really liked. I'll have to listen to it before i commit to buying it then

    cheers

Ska-P - El Gato Lopez ftw. I need to get one of their albums. I can't find them anywhere.

Athena are a Turkish ska band. Not latin but still pretty cool. They were Turkey's Eurovision entry a few years back.

currently listening to rx bandits, in anticipation for their new album.

mouthwash, are incredible. their new album is one of the best 'ska' cds in recent times. miles away from their old stuff but amazing all the same.

I'm loving the new Overthrow EP, me. If anyone's heard the older one, this one completely blows it out the water! I got slightly obsessed and played it 30 times in under 24 hours when I first got it. Check out the myspazz too, they've got a new acoustic track up which I'm rating.

I've been liking potemkin city limits and supporting caste albums by propagandhi. I've also been liking the mad caddies alot recently and have become very fond of Desmond Dekker.

I've been enjoying me some Imperial Leisure lately. I just been and seen 'em in carnaby street a few hours ago too. Unfortunately I had a few 'new camera woes'. Was still a good time and that. I'll ditch the camera next time. Wink

The latest CD is my player is Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.

It's hard to place it in a specific genre, but probably falls closest to a heavy-ish Indie Rock. Along the same lines as some of Weezer's material.
Lyrically they're a pretty psychedelic setup, but manage to keep it from sounding too pretentious.
They also use a ton of instruments, from violins to horns to bagpipes, seriously, all sorts of stuff.

Just a shame they split up in 1998...
