Sonic Boom Six Acoustic instore tour!, And new single news

Post by Summers on Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:59 pm

    Taken from the SB6 mailout...

Sonic Boom Six release a new single ‘The Concrete We’re Trapped Within (It’s Yours)’ on July 6th through our own Rebel Alliance Recordings label. The first single to be taken from the critically-acclaimed album City of Thieves, the track’s mix of socially-conscious lyrics, dynamic rock hooks, jungle drum loops and energetic ska-punk is the ideal introduction to the signature sound of the Boom. Already a staple of Mike Davies’s Radio 1 Punk Show, the song has attracted plays across Total Rock Radio, Kerrang! Radio, Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 Show and Bruce Dickinson’s BBC Radio 6 Rock Show. You can hear the radio edit of the tune over at our Myspace now. Please don't hesitate to request the record over at those respective shows... You can fill in a quick request form for the Punk Show and or email and Bruce's show. Go on, go on, go on!

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/mikedavies/allrequests.shtml

The single will be available on CD maxi-single and download formats. The CD single contains three brand new B-sides, the bouncy dub of 'Nine Stitches', the scorching ska-core of 'This is Real' and the electrifying electro of Ben C's remix of the title track. Also on there is the album version of the song and the recently polished viral video by Ben C. Over at the SB6 store, we're offering free postage for the pre-orders. Get your order in by the release date and get the CD for just £3.99, post-paid!

OK then! The acoustic In-Store Boom Tour begins today in Manchester. We've added a full acoustic show at the Croft in Bristol on the 14th July, with the absolutely stonking political folk-hip-hop of Clayton Blizzard in support. Should be a really fun show, just £5 advance. Any questions head over to http://www.myspace.com/deadpunkpromotions.

Lots of people have been getting in touch to ask more details about the in-stores. So, being the helpful bugger I am, I am hereby providing the said info...

Rightio, in other news, we went down to Maida Vale studios on Saturday for a session for the BBC Radio 1 Punk Show. We played three tunes off 'City Of Thieves' and a brand new, session-exclusive cover version that encompassed a real-life string section. Very fancy. There's never a dull moment. You can have a look at a couple of photos but we'll have a little video of the day up very soon. Please follow our Blog if you're the Blogging kind. And let's face it, who isn't these days? http://www.sonicboomsix.blogspot.com/

And, that, as they say, is very nearly that. Tomorrow there is going to be some big old Rebel Alliance Recordings news about a new band joining the ranks that we're stoked about. You can get all the Rebel Alliance news just by joining the mailing list.

Bouncy dub and scorching ska-core. I'm intrigued.

Hopefully I'm going to the Reskue Skate Shop in Southampton too

The All Ages show was particularly awesome, if you were in need of knowing.
