    Lockerz (Legitimate free stuff)

Post by Marc on Thu Aug 20, 2009 10:19 pm

A good friend of mine just told me about this new site called 'Lockerz' where you earn currency to buy various things (electronics and brands so far) just by using the site. It's totally legit and run by an ex-CEO of Amazon.com. Here's the Site's description:

Lockerz is the place to go to buy the coolest stuff at the lowestprices, watch exclusive video, discover new music, play the hottestgames, hang out with your friends - and get rewarded for just aboutEVERYTHING you do on the site. Our mission is to be your daily habit, not a site for your parentsor grandparents looking for their long-lost friends from Kindergarten.

One other thing you'll love about Lockerz are PTZ (or "Pointz"). PTZare Lockerz' proprietary loyalty "currency" that you earn whenever youbuy, watch, play, share, invite friends, or even just show up onLockerz. Redeem PTZ at the PTZ Place for incredible prizes, greatproducts and dream experiences.

Too Good to Be True? Why are we doing this? To thank you forjoining early. To build a Lockerz community of cool, stylish,cutting-edge people who love to buy great brands. To give you a tasteof how PTZ will work when we go live this fall. And to test outdifferent prizes and PTZ levels. That's key. This version of PTZPlace is a test. PTZ levels will change when the full Lockerz sitelaunches.

Lockerz is set to launch sometime in the Fall 09. Members who signup now will get to explore and help shape the site before the launch. We hope you'll join us.

10 minutes on a search engine should answer any questions you might have about it. I have 14 invites left so if anybody would like to try it out then just post a message here and i'll email an invite to the address in your profile. Or just PM it to me. Me and my friend just worked out that 4/5 days of regular use should get you a PS3 or Xbox game as easy as that. It's kind of exciting lol.

It does sound too good to be true and I don't like how companies use the letter 'z' in place of 's' to be cool but if I'm getting rewarded for something I'd do anyway I may as well give it a go. I'll have a look at it first and then PM you about it.

    Good find.

If they really do give people free stuff I can't see it lasting very long. Does it say how they get money from it? Ads wouldn't make enough, I imagine.

Count me in anyway, if you have any invites left (free stuff is always good, right?)

I must admit i'm also confused about how they would make money out of this but I can tell it's genuine so that's a start...besides it doesn't even go live until october so maybe the whole money making part is still to come?

It seems like the rewards are much greater now than what they will be upon release.

Signed up, thanks. I've earned 31 points already. I don't know what else I can do other than logging in each day. 3000 points gets me a TV. Long way off.

If you look near the bottom right there's a icon for 'dailies' basically answer a question each day to earn 2 points. Although I earned 4 yesterday so maybe it changes. Obviously inviting friends gets you points but for now you basically just need to wait until they release the videos and music stuff to start earning points a bit better.
