    Band T-shirts

Post by The Amazing Fletch on Sat Jun 19, 2010 10:41 pm

I'd say all but one or two of my T-shirts are band T-shirts. I've got a few favourites; My white Skints 'penny' one, my Dropkick Murphys 'Good Rats' one, I like my Random Hand 'Change of Plan' and my Rebellion 2008 one too.

The trouble with band T-shirts is that they're almost always black. Black isn't a good colour in hot weather. Attention bands, make more white ones. Or green, that's good too.

    What are your favourites?

I really try to buy T-shirts when I'm at a gig, just so they've got that extra bit of cash for the tour. I just had to buy the Good Rats one though.

I usually buy them from gigs anyway, just because i always prefer buying things in person. I was going to buy a skindred one at slam dunk but by the time capdown finished they had packed up Sad

I like my yellow JBC in the style of JCB one, my white mouthwash one with the fried breakfast on the front, My bouncing souls pizza shirt. I think they're my 3 favourite I got loads of black band t-shirts too, so now I try and go for colour or white ones, starting to get a lot of red ones now too.

I'd like to see more bands doing other merch...patches, and in particular, hoodies.

    I have a Green T actually Fletch...a Tossers one.

I like the TNS records Mainstream Music Is Shit T shirt.

Aye man I got one at Strummercamp. Maybe if you're going to see a Manc area band that are touring, ask them to bring one down with em if you can catch them before they head out.

I have loads of band t shirts.

My all time fave is my Bad Religion cross buster one. Its not very exciting but I wore it to my first gig, on the way to my first festival and have lots of other awesome memories wearing it. I've had it since I was about 15/16 and sometimes wear it in bed... the fabric is that worn out that it isn't really suitable to wear outside of my room. I think it would be awesome to get it signed by the band and put it in a nice frame or something, that would be well good Very Happy

I had a Big D t-shirt that I loved but I got latex stuff stuff to it, and made a huge hole in it trying to scrub it off.. sad times!

I like when bands do t shirts in different colours. Green is deffo a winner, I've got Mad Caddies, Flogging Molly, Less Than Jake, Led Zep and Graham Coxon in green... its a good colour Smile

Ive got only a few band shirts

But my first was an Anti-Flag the poeple or the gun shirt, which i have gotten signed a year later when i actually met and chilled with them. I like it but i dont wear it anymore cuz of the signature (its so punx right?)

Then ive got a White shirt with a Purple Crass logo, its pretty awesome, mainly because I made it, and the store was out of black spray paint, so purple was good too. I wear it quite a bit.

I also made myself a Bomb the Music Industry! shirt but i never wear it, it looks really bad, but whatever

And then, thanks to you guys, from today i have a ska mutiny shirt, which i plan to wear often.

I like making shirts though, I think ill make myself a Ceremony shirt, because im too much of a cheap ass to actually buy them and support the band. + making shirts is so much cooler

Making shirts is cool but I buy a lot of band shirts for the design, not the name. Well, i'd say 70% design 30% name because it's great when someone recognises the band.

Well, yeah, thats the thing, when you make a shirt, you can sort of tweak designs and whatnot, or just make some from scratch.

Also, for example, the Crass logo I have on my shirt (which im wearing now) looks pretty cool, I always liked the Crass Logo, i didnt even write down "CRASS", its just a logo, so people have no idea what its supposed to be, just because I like the way it looks, but then I also feel superior because I know a band they dont Very Happy

Besides, its so satisfying when you make your own shirt and no one notices you made it

I think I have 3 non-band tshirts. I got two this christmas. My mum got me a 'blessed are the cheesemakers' tshirt without knowing it's from monty python , she thought I'd just like a tshirt that said that...

I had the same 'too many black band shirts' problem so now I have overcompensated and have mostly white and colourful ones which is all good Smile

The one people tell me they like is my five iron frenzy one

but my favorite is my mustard plug 'we want ska' one! Smile

My mother-in-law always gets me really bad t-shirts for Christmas. I don't think she realises that I'm not a 15 year old goth.

This is by far my favourite:

Mine's even better because it has actual rat holes in it where my babies have chewed through it.

My current favourite t shirt is my mouthwash one with the fry up on it, it's lovely. I still kinda want the I've done sex one, but I might be limited to where I can actually wear it Sad
