It's about time we had a thread about it, I know the season just finished but there's plenty of room for some discussion!

Anyway. What do we all think? Has everyone who watches it seen the finale of Season 5? Any ideas what might have happened after explosion? Who is the guy at the start chatting to Jacob? I have my own theories, I must say

The general vibe of the intro gave off a very sort of light/dark good/evil god/devil vibe. Without getting too annoying film studies student, the black/white symbolism of jacob and the other guy certainly suggests something like that.

Total headfuck, basically. 17 episodes left and not an answer in sight, haha.

I agree. Definite symbolism, plus Jacob's book had a picture of a white dove being struck with a black arrow.

Part of me thinks that the guy at the start is like some sort of physical form for the Smoke Monster - certain bits have hinted at this (like when Ben summoned the monster to judge him and Locke came out of the jungle, or the fact that the Monster 'scanned' Locke and then let him go, only to end up being him). Perhaps the Monster is able to manifest itself as dead people on the island? So when Locke's body is brought back on the plane, he can become him in order to kill Jacob.

It's all a bit convoluted but it seems to fit together in my head!

They are Lost! On a magical island and nobody knows where they are! They are Lost! hoping somebody will find them before they fall into more danger, flying from the land down under off to the land of the free-ee-ee... Their plane fell from the sky yet somehow they survived but in this strange place
no one is safe, that's for sure... They are Lost!

hmmmmm interesting! i like that idea about the smoke monster. i'm sad jacobs dead. we never really got to know him! but maybe there'll be flash backs in the next series.

I don't think everyone in the past at the explosion will be dead. i mean - mile's dad goes on to film more videos which reference the incident so he must have survived. and richard said he saw them all die but he wasn't there at the scene on the explosion so maybe they die later?
I feel really sorry for juliet she was the best! and better than kate. kate and jack annoy me so much! lol

Having only just finished season 4 a fortnight ago I have been trying to resist opening this topic.. it's been particularly difficult to stay away as it's been trying to lure me in with it's flashing red icon ever since it's formation.

However, I am weak willed so I'm here now!

Who's watching series 6 at the moment!? I thought it started out a bit pants with the whole 'lets all go to the temple' thing, but the last few episodes have been really good! I haven't seen last night yet, probably going to watch it tonight.

What does everyone think is going to happen at the end? I'm liking that we're finally getting some answers but still don't have a clue whats going on!
